TLSL Tipperary Cup Preview

August 13th 2016 the ladies of KILENAULE/MOYGLASS  added another trophy to their collection but this one was special. They finally completed the treble of league, shield and cup .

This weekend  10 teams start their cup journey all hoping to win.

Sallypark 1 Clonmel 3

Played last night Clonmel booked their place in the ¼ finals sending Sallypark into plate. Clonmel were big winner’s in div.2 last year winning the league and shield . With a good start to the season Clonmel are in  the div.1 shield final and doing well in the league. Sallypark are back in the league this year and could be stronger when the plate comes around .

Saturday evening games.

St.Nickolas vs Knigh United

Interesting fixture first meeting for these two.  St.Nickolas  reached the final of the plate last summer and have been very competitive for the last few seasons. They  seem to be struggling in div.1 and  might need this home game. Knigh on the other hand are enjoying their first season improving all the time . A home win is expected here but it’s a close call.

Arra Rovers vs Cahir Park

These two played in the league only last Wednesday . The home team got 5-4 win but with player availability effecting both teams will a weekend fixture give a different result here .

Tipperary Town vs Nenagh

This is probably the pick of the round . Top two in div.2 who recently played out a 3-2 win in favour of Nenagh.  These two played a couple of finals over the years and it  is  expected both will be in  the hunt for trophies come the end of the summer.

Shinrone vs Birdhill

Last year’s finalists have a home game to start with but with div.1 proving to be a problem for shinrone and an 8-0 defeat against Birdhill a few weeks ago it’s hard to see a home win here.  Birdhill are not going well either and need a win . Neither team are in a position to look past Sunday they just need to start winning games.

In the ¼ finals

Clonmel win last night put them into the ¼ finals joining Dualla , Borris St.kevins and Kilenaule/Moyglass.  Dualla top of the league look to be the strongest team at the moment and Kilenaule/Moyglass have already surrendered the shield and seem to be losing their grid on the league.  The cup is going to be very interesting this year.
