Republic Head To Qualifiers After Stalemate With The North


The Republic of Ireland Regions Cup team faced off against their Northern Ireland counterparts in Roscommon last night.

In the absence of regular captain Ken Hoey, St Michaels star Jimmy Carr donned the armband and produced a wonderful display throughout the game.


Chances were few and far between as Northern Ireland defended strongly but chances from Eoin Hayes and David Hoban didn’t find the net with the latter’s header rebounding off the crossbar.

The match ended scoreless but their was much to be happy about especially the performance of Carr who has been one of Irelands top players in recent times.


Gerry Davies side fly out to Italy on Sunday week and face a tough group of Italy, Slovenia and Macedonia.
