Pike Rovers got off to the best possible start tonight in the Limerick & District League Premier Division after beating current Champions Janesboro by six goals to one. Rovers held a two-goal lead at half time thanks to a brace from Eoin Hanrahan, Wayne O’Donovan and Jonathan Grant added two more after the break before Shane Clarke netted from the spot for the visitors. Rovers weren’t content with the score line however and added two more at the end thanks to Conor Kavanagh (pen) and Shane Walsh.

Elsewhere, Regional Utd came from behind to beat Aisling Annacotty by two goals to one whilst newly promoted Coonagh Utd played out a two all draw with Prospect Priory. Fairview Rangers got their campaign off to a flyer with a routine win over newly promoted Mungret Regional, winning the game four nil.
