Pastures New For Boca As He Moves North

Former Tipperary Town manager Brian “Boca” Glasheen has been appointed assistant manager to Noel “Bub” Byrne at North Tipperary & District League Champions Thurles Town.

Boca was sacked from his position at Tipp Town at the back end of last season because of his out-spoken nature and was set to return to management at Cahir Park only for the deal to fall apart at on the 11th hour.

It will be a stern test for the Coach as he goes into a League he’s not worked or played in before but Thurles manager Byrne is confident he will adapt well stating that his coaching comes second to only his personality. Byrne also suggested that this is a vital move if they are to improve on a fantastic season last term asthey had a 100% record in the league as well a Shield success and getting out of the area in boththe FAI and Munster Junior Cups.

Rumours from the Town camp say Glasheen is being earmarked to succeed Byrne when he retires and huge transfer activity is already in line before the season starts in less than a month.
