TSDL Premier Division outfit Peake Villa travelled to Cork to play Knocknaheeny Celtic at O’Sullivan Park and came away with a fantastic 4-1 win in the last 64 in the FAI Junior Cup.
Villa opened the scoring on as little as 4 minutes when Mikey Wade was on hand to score. The home side would not cave in though and were unlucky not to equalise but for two fantastic saves from Stephen Ryan in the Villa goal.
Villa started the second half strongly and should have doubled their lead on the 49th minute when Pippy Carroll forced a remarkable save from the home sides custodian from the penalty spot. However Peake did double their lead on the hour mark when Dale Loughnane gave the keeper no chance.
Five minutes later the game was effectively over when Wade got his second of the game although Celtic did grab one back only a minute later.
Villa were guarenteed a place in the last 32 when the talented Loughnane grabbed his brace with only ten minutes remaining.
A fantastic result for the side from Thurles and this young side has the capabilities to beat anyone on their day.
