St Micheal’s put in a five star second half performance to beat Old Bridge 5-0 this evening in Cooke Park.
In a tight first half Bridge would have felt aggrieved as they thought they should have had a penalty on the stroke of half time when Eoin Leahy went down in the area but their cries for a penalty were waved away by the referee.
The second half was a completely different affair as Saints asserted their dominance and took the lead eight minutes in through Olly O’Driscoll. Saints doubled their lead fourteen minutes from time as veteran Paul Breen was on hand to all but end the game as a contest.
The floodgates opened after this as former BT Harps player Sean Paddy Guerins, Shane Ryan and Shane Neville all scored in the remaining minutes to keep their 100^ start to the season intact.
