Paidí Williams 89’

17 year-old Paidí Williams was the hero of the hour this morning as his delightful last minute strike earned Moneygall Fc their first league title in 41 years. Gerry Larkin’s side had a history being nearly men, losing 13 finals in their history, but they made amends here as his substitution four minutes from time made all the difference.

In a cagey affair both sides were limited throughout with chances as the defences remained on top throughout.

The all-important goal came with just a minute remaining as a cross into the area from Billy McCormack found the youngster and his delightful volley nestled into the bottom right corner giving Shinrone netminder Conor Doughan no chance.

A huge day for the club and with emotions running high the champions rear guard of Stephen Maher and Tadhg Kenneally were dominant throughout with the latter being named Man of the Match.
