Tipp Teams Handed Tough FAI Draws

The five Tipperary teams left in the final thirty-two of this season’s FAI Junior =Cup have been handed tough draws, fixed for January 13th.

Home draws for St Michaels, Clonmel Town and BT Harps will ease their burden as they host Newmarket Celtic, Wayside Celtic or Fc Transylvania and Ballymun Utd respectively.

Newport Town will travel to fellow Limerick District League side Aisling Annacotty while Peake Villa travel to Donegal to face Greencastle Fc.

St Michaels Vs Newmarket Celtic

In this interesting tie TSDL Leaders St Michaels host Clare & District League leaders Newmarket Celtic. Both sides boast 100% league records this campaign having conceded just seven goals between them in seventeen games.

Clonmel Town Vs Wayside Celtic or Fc Transylvania

TSDL Premier Division side Clonmel Town have had a mixed start to their season but look to be hitting top form at the right time of the season having beaten Bansha Celtic and Park Celtic in the previous two rounds without conceding a goal. They face Dublin opposition in Round 6 IN EITHER Wayside Celtic or Fc Transylvania. The latter languish third from bottom in the Leinster Senior League Major 1 Sunday league having just won two of their opening five fixtures. Wayside Celtic however will be favourites to come through that fifth-round tie but their own league form in the Leinster Senior League Major 1 Saturday has been inconsistent at best, playing seven, won three, drew two and lost two, conceding fourteen goals in the process so Town will be confident of progressing here.

BT Harps Vs Ballymun Utd

North Tipperary & District League Premier Division side BT Harps host Leinster Senior League Major Saturday side Ballymun Utd in this tie. Both sides are in the title picture of their respective leagues and Ballymun remain unbeaten in their six games averaging nearly four gaols per game in the process and conceding less than one goal per game. Harps however will have huge home support in this and Johnny Doran’s side will have nothing to fear as they continue to make history at their club.

Greencastle Fc Vs Peake Villa

Peake Villa will make the long trip to Donegal to face Inishowen Football League Premier Division side Greencastle Fc. The Thurles side have been in consistent form this season and will have no fears here despite their opponent’s unbeaten start to the season. The away side have played and won their four league games so far this season averaging four goals per game. This will be a testing tie for sure.

Aisling Annacotty Vs Newport Town

Limerick District League third tier side Newport Town will have it all to do in this one as they look to continue their fine season this far. They face LDL Top Flight side Aisling Annacotty, and this is probably the toughest draw of all the Tipp sides.
