Three & Easy For Gurta

 Gurtagarry Fc 3

Gurtagarry traveled up to Rearcross for a floodlit fixture on Friday night and came back down with 3 points in the bag.

Ronnie Kinane scored in the first minute after Paul Ryan slotted him in on goal after good work by Darren Delaney.

Gurta controlled the first half for long periods but could not add to their lead, with Calvin O’Rourke hitting the bar the closest the Blues got to scoring again before the break.

The second half followed a similar pattern although the hosts had a number of corners which were dealt with by the Gurta defence.

With an hour gone Paul Ryan was put through by Tadhg McLoughlin and he struck the back of the net to effectively seal the result for the visitors.  5 minutes later Dotsy Boland played Darren Delaney in and he dinked the ball over the advancing Rearcross keeper to make it 3-0 and the score stayed that way until full time.

Best on the day for Gurta was Mark Harty who was having his first game in a while but did everything right defensively as well as getting a number of attacks going down the right hand side. The defence in general was very solid and Brendan Hayes also pulled of a couple of smart saves to keep Gurta’s lead intact.

With 12 games played out of a total of 16 we hold a slender lead at the top of the table. Up next is a visit to Latteragh for Cloughjordan ‘B’ next Sunday.
