FAI Junior Cup 3rd Round
Thurles Town reached round 4 of the FAI Junior Cup after a comfortable 2-0 win over TSDL side Cahir Park. A goal in each half by captain Barry Ryan was enough to guide his side through to the next round where they will face Tipperary Town.
NT&DL Premier Division
BT Harps ran out easy 3-0 winners against Borrisokane thanks to goals from Cathal Scully, Johnny Coleman and Dean McEnroe, all of whom scored in the opening half hour.
Roscrea Town’s title push took a severe blow as they were beaten by the odd goal in seven by Cloughjordan. Clough went ahead early on thanks to Kevin Kennedy but Eoin Moloney quickly restored parity for the hosts. Town found themselves three goals down then thanks to Dean O’Meara, Diarmaid Kennedy and Paul Lake. They soon rallied and came up short despite and fine effort from Brian Franks and an Own Goal.
Nenagh Celtic went top of the table after a 4-1 win over bottom of the table Ballymackey Fc. Danny Ryan (2), Mark Walsh and Darren Scully were on target for the hosts while the visitors scored a consolation late on.
NT&DL Division 1:
Nenagh Celtic B kept their title hopes alive against fellow promotion rivals Clodiagh Rangers. Lee Mitchell, Anton Provotorov and Davie Walsh were on target for Celtic while goals from Paul Ryan and Ailbe O’Donoghue weren’t enough for Rangers.
Holycross Fc ran out easy 5-1 winners against a struggling Moneygall Fc side. Brothers Jojo and Colin O’Meara both bagged a brace while an own goal rounded up the scoring for the hosts, Stephen Maher scored a consolation penalty for the visitors.
Portumna stayed joint top after a hard fought win over a tricky Roscrea Town B side. Kevin Brummills first half brace was enough to get the three points despite Ryan O’Gorman pulling one back for Town.
Arra Rovers remained rock bottom after losing by the odd goal in five against Rearcross FC.
Borroway Rovers have made it unbeaten in eleven games thanks to a 3-2 win over Ardcroney. Keith Moore, Benny Connolly and Gary Dunne were on target for the hosts while Jamie Heffernan and Shane Seymour scored for the relegation threatened Ardcroney.
NT&DL Division 2
Borrisokane B and Rearcross FC B played out and shared the spoils in a six goal thriller. Borrisokane had Kevin Crowe, Graham McMahon and Darren Carroll on target while 3 goals for the away side rescued a point but they still haven’t managed a win this season as of yet.
An Oisin Jordan inspired Templetuohy rallied to a 4-0 win over Ballywilliam Utd in this mid table clash. Jordan scored another hattrick while Tony Buston rounded up the scoring.
Clodiagh Rangers B remain rooted to the bottom after being on the receiving end of a 6-1 scoreline against Cloughjordan Fc B. Luke Morkin (3), Dusty King, Andrew Brennan and Alex Wade were on target for Clough.
Gurtagarry and BT Harps B shared the spoils in this top of the table clash. Gurta remain three points clear thanks to an Own goal and Paul Ryan, James Kavanagh and Chud Fennell kept Harps faint title challenge alive.
