FAI Junior Cup 6th Round
BT Harps 1-2 Ballymun Utd
BT Harps dream run in this seasons FAI Junior Cup has come to an end despite a battling performance against Dublin outfit Ballymun Utd.
Harps found themselves a goal down after just six minutes when a Keith Hanney cross was caught by the strong wind and the ball when over the helpless Stephen Byrne’s head. The hosts got themeslves back into it ten minutes later when a defensive mix up allowed Jamie Bergin to force the ball home much to the home sides delight.
The second half remained as tight as the first and it would be the away side that went in front, Hanney again scoring after some fine build up play.
Harps pressed in the latter stages and they were awarded a penalty six minutes from time but the keeper saved spectacularly from Johnny Coleman and ensured his side would be in the hat for the last 16.
