FAI Junior Cup Draw Summarised…… NT&DL, TSDL

The NT&DL and TSDL section of the early rounds of the FAI Junior Cup as threw in a few fine matches to look forward to. There could be 13 games in which The North will battle The South and bragging rights will be a huge part in these rounds.

Round one sees 4 Premier Division teams from across the divide play as an all TSDL affair sees Clonmel Town face Galbally United with the winners take on NT&DL Division 1 leaders Portumna Fc at home. Holycross Fc face Premier Division opposition as Old Bridge travel to Glenbane with the winners make the trick trek to Cullen/Lattin in the second round. NT&DL Champions Nenagh Celtic will face TSDL Division 1 side St Nicholas in the TEC with the winners hosting out of form Two Mile Borris in the second round. NT&DL Premier Division side Ballymackey will host Killenaule Rovers of the south’s Division 3 and the winners will then host Vee Rovers.

NT&DL Premier Division leaders BT Harps  face a tough task as they meet Tipperary Town of the Premier Division in South Tipp, both sides have been impressive so far this season. Moneygall Fc and Donohill & District will face off in an interesting tie as both sides have been relatively poor since the start of the season and both will hope a win here might kick start their seasons. Clonmel Celtic will host a Lough Derg side that have been out of sorts this season and a home win is most likely here. NT&DL title favourites Thurles Town travel to TSDL Division 2 side Wilderness Rovers hoping to continue their unbeaten start to the season. Borrisokane Fc have once again been handed a nightmare draw as they travel to St Michael’s, having already lost at home to the TSDL giants 10-0 earlier in the John Delaney Cup.

These were the last of the matches that involved teams from both leagues but the rest of the draw also threw up some fine fixtures.

TSDL Division 1 side Bansha Celtic host Premier Division side Cashel Town in a match they feel they can win TSDL Division 1 leaders Redmondstown will meet bottom of the table Kilsheelan United.

NT&DL Premier Division rivals Cloughjordan Fc & Roscrea Town will face off after both sides beating eachother once this season already by just the odd goal. Division 1 sides Rearcross FC & Clodiagh Rangers will also be interesting as both sides have been in fine form so far chasing the league title.

Peake Villa will face TSDL Division 3 side Kilmanahan United in what should be a one sided affair Division 1 promotion contenders Rosegreen Rangers will host rivals Glengoole United in what should be a very close game. The draw is concluded with Mullinahone taking on Cahir Park in yet another game that could go either way.
