Barry Cup Joy For Shinrone Utd

NT&DL Barry Cup Final

Shinrone Utd

John Pio Fitzpatrick 18’ 58’

Riann McLoughlin 53’ (pen)

Ballymackey Fc

Shinrone Utd added to their early season Shield success with a 3-0 win over Ballymackey Fc in the Barry Cup final today.

They went into half time with a slender one goal lead thanks to a John Pio Fitzpatrick effort just before the twenty-minute mark. Its could have been much better for United but Fitzpatrick seen his penalty saved just before half time and Brian Kirwan seen an earlier effort cannon off the crossbar.

Shinrone doubled their lead eight minutes into the second half as Riann McLoughlin converted from the spot after he was felled in the area, the youngster playing alongside his father Derek on this historic occasion. Shinrone sealed the win minutes later when Fitzpatrick took advantage of a defensive mix up and he tuck the ball into the bottom corner to end the game as a contest.

Stoppagetime.ie would like to extend its best wishes to Ballymackey Fc player Gary McCarthy who was forced off with what looked like a bad injury in the second half.
