Nenagh Celtic 2-3 Ballymackey Fc

Ballymackey Fc have capped off a fine week by beating Nenagh Celtic 3-2, in a must win game for their survival in the TEC on Thursday evening, having won the NT&DL Youths League on Saturday last and this Junior side beating Portumna Town in a relegation six pointer on Sunday. The win sees both Cloughjordan Fc and Portumna Town both needing a win from their final league games if they are to avoid the drop.

Celtic started the game the brighter and found themselves a goal head thanks to a neat Jimmy Hynes Finish. This however seemed to wake the away side up and they found themselves on level terms thanks to an Alan Ryan header from a corner.

Ballymackey continuted to press and took a deserved lead as Mark Hunt scoreed directly from a free kick. Two was to become three soon after as a Terry Delaney header found the net and Ballymackey could well and trulydream of the unlikliest survival.

Celtic did get a goal back nine minutes from time through Conor Cleary in what proved to be a consolation.

Ballymackey now have all their games played and must rely on other resuts going their way as Cloughjordan and Portumna travel to BT Harps and Nenagh Celtic respectively in their final games of the season where a win is a must for both sides as they battle for survival.
