Thurles Town moved to the top of the North Tipperary & District League Premier Division Table after a comfortable win over fellow title contenders Nenagh Celtic.
Town went into half time two goals to the good after goals from Martin Darmody and Aidan Keenan despite Celtic been probably the better side with Mark Walsh hitting the bar and Jimmy Hynes squandering chances. 
Celtic, who hadn’t had a league game since December, never fully recovered and were three goals down thanks to an own goal by Eoin Ryan and things would only get worse soon after when Eoghan Vaughan found the net with a fine finish.
Celtic pulled a goal back with fifteen minutes to go when Danny Ryan scored from the spot. Paul Walsh got Celtic second with ten minutes remaining aain from the spot as Celtic looked for a miracle comeback that was never to come.
The game ended on a sour note when a fracas broke out and it resulted in four players been given their marching orders, Ted O’Connor and Paraic Fogarty for Town along with Sean Healy and Mark Walsh for Celtic.
A huge win for Town asthey bid for their first Premier Division title in their history.
