The Limerick & District League 2019/20 got under way last night as Geraldines AFC bagged themselves a big win against Nenagh AFC in Brickfields. Dines took the lead after just eighteen minutes as Ian O’Donoghue headed home a fine Christy O’Neill free kick. Nenagh fought back on the half hour mark as Bryan McGee finished from close range. Dines however dealt the home side a huge blow with ten minutes remaining, some great play from O’Neill, Bobby Teer and Cian Byrne seen the latter cross the ball inti the area and Cliften Carey’s header found the top corner to win the game for his side. Dines managed a mid-table finish last season and this will go a long way in spear heading and higher finish for this season as Nenagh narrowly avoided relegation and one would wonder will this prover to be as difficult a season for the Tipperary side.

Elsewhere, Kilmallock Utd and Ballynanty Rovers played out a one all draw with Paul Moloney finding the net for the hosts.
