Newmarket Celtic reached the Hugh Kelly cup final after a penalty shootout victory over rivals Shannon Town. celtic took the lead two minutes before the break when Ronan McCorack was on hand to tap home a rebound following a McCarthy effort.

Town equalized a minute into the second half when when a dangerous corner wasn’t cleared and Darren Griffin was on had to stab home.

The game ended this way and not even extra time could deparate the two sides but Celtic ran out 5-4 victors on penalties to continue their great form going into the latter end of the season.
