Nenagh moved to second in the Limerick Premier Division with a narrow victory in the home of current champions Carew Park. It was an error strewn first half with both teams realising the enormity of the game with both still having ambitions of a title challenge.
Nenagh shuffled the pack at half time and Nathan Kelly came off the bench to turn the game around. Nenagh wasted a number of half chances but the goal eventually came with ten minutes remaining when Ryan Gilmartins goal bound free kick was cruely deflected past the helpless Carew Park keeper.
Nenagh seen out the remaining ten minutes without much concern to record a huge three points. Captain James McGrath was outstanding and led by example with excellent performances from all fourteen players used.
Six points away to limerick powerhouses of Pike Rovers and Carew Park now put the Tipperary team firmly in the mix with a mouthwatering game vs Janesboro on the horizon.
