Stoppagetime.ie was tonight contacted by Two Mile Borris/St Kevin’s amid the crisis surrounding the Referees decision to make themselves unavailable for TSSDL games.
The situation started when TMB/St Kevin’s U/12 team refused to take part in a fixture because of the allocated referee. The Referee’s Association then contacted the league making themselves unavailable until the matter could be resolved and the TSSDL club felt it a right time to issue a statement.
Two Mile Borris/St Kevin’s Statement
“Club Statement regarding the unfulfilled fixture vs Clonmel Town on the 18th May 2017.
A decision not to play the game was taken by the Club, Players, Parents and Management of the team prior to kick off. This decision was not made lightly and was done so on the grounds of player safety and well-being, which is always our first priority.
The club asks all our members, volunteers, parents and players to refrain from commenting on the matter on social media until it has been resolved.
Yours in Sport
Two Mile Borris St. Kevins FC”
The statement would suggest that the club had put a lot of thought and discussion into their decision and time will only tell what the possible reprecussions might be in the coming days when the TSSDL meet early next week.
