St Michael’s edged closer to the TSDL Premier League title without playing a league game this weekend as league leaders Clonmel Celtic crashed to a 4-2 loss away to Bansha Celtic despite being a goal to the good twice in the game. Ian Barnes put the away side ahead early on but Darren McGrath Equalised four minutes later from a Killian Fitzgerald cross. Clonmel would retake the lead four minutes later as Barnes netted his second from the penalty spot. Bansha levelled the game before half time as a Niall Daly shot from distance hit the net. Two goals in the second half from Killian Fitzgerald and Kevin Mullins were enough to see the home side go joint second in the table.
Elsewhere Peake Villa continued their good run of form with a 3-0 win over relegation threatened Oldbridge. Ronan O’McGuire grabbed a hattrick for Villa and he now sits joint top of the scorer charts with Evan Maguire.
Tipperary Town grabbed a much-needed win against a pointless Two Mile Borris with a 6-0 scoreline. Goals from Mark Roche, Vinny Godfrey, Darren Stokes, Tony Byrnes and Darren Neville (2) were enough to see Town put some much-needed breathing space between themselves and the bottom three.
