Clonmel Celtic eased their way into third round of the Tipperary Cup after a 5-2 home victory against Premier Division rivals Old Bridge.
Celtic took the lead after just ten minutes when Seanie O’Hara continued his rich vein of form with a neat finish. It continued this way until half time with both sides unable to get through the tight defences.
The second half however started with a bang and Celtic found themselves two goals to the good three minutes in thanks to a Tommy Kiely striker and it would be three on fifty one minutes thanks to Irish Junior International David Joyce. Celtic ended the game as a contest on fifty four minutes when Aaron Moroney was on hand to score.
Old Bridge would not lie down however and pulled one back on the six first minutes through Shane Butler and only seven minutes later Eoin Leahy added another for Bridge making it five goals in twenty minutes in this pulsating affair.
The game did die down however and on the eighty first minute Evan McGuire finally finished Bridge off with a cool finish to send his side into the third round.
