This seasons division one promises to be the closest in years with at least five teams vying for the title.
The bottom half should be as equally as exciting with Ardcroney and Arra Rovers given a second chance to stay in the division.
1. Holycross Fc
Holycross only narrowly missed out on this title two seasons ago when Streamstown Celtic nipped them at the end and last seasons relegation from the Premier Division could very well give them a chance to right that wrong.
2. Clodiagh Rangers
The Drombane side had a fine season ymtwo years ago in the Premier but they have gone downhill ever since. Last seasons heartbreaking relegation could be hard to take but if they are on form they will prove very hard to beat throughout.
3. Moneygall Fc
Last seasons promotional playoff runners up Moneygall look like a club on the rise. With some players returning to the fold they have to be considered as contenders this season also.
4. Nenagh Celtic B
Celtic are always strong on both levels and after last seasons fantastic title when they will be surely on the hunt for more this term.
5. Roscrea Town
An unknown quantity this Roscrea team will be and as a new club they might suffer as management try to decipher on what players might be A or B. A slow start is detrimental to any NT&DL Division so they will have to hit the ground running.
Portumna are always a hit and miss side but on their day they can score many goals and are always a threat to the opposition. They will look to be high up the division but we think some matches might be a bridge too far for them.
7. Borroway Rovers
This Thurles outfit have has an abysmal couple of years since their relegation from the Premier Division. They have yet to come to terms with what’s needed to make it back to the top can this season be different?? Only time will tell.
8. Rearcross Fc
Another side that has struggled recently and it looks like another season of struggles with the quality in this division this season. Again on their day Rearcross can be a handful especially at home.
9. Arra Rovers
Relegated last season but survived with the new format, Arra Rovers will find it tough this season also. Finding a goalscorer is key here as it has been a struggle to find the net in recent seasons.
10. Ardcroney Fc
The other relegated side of last season is Ardcroney Fc. A team that likes to play football as it should but that has often been the main source for dropping points as clean sheets have been very few and far between recently.
stoppagetime.ie would like to wish all clubs the very best of luck on their seasons and we hope to see ye all at some point.
