Gurtagarry Fc Vs Clodiagh Rangers Fc B
Gurtagarry host Clodiagh Rangers B in this seasons division two shield final and look to be huge favourites after a perfect start to the season so far. They face a Rangers side though who have proven very hard to beat and will look to take this title despite the odds being stacked against them.
Gurta are already red hot title favourites this season and have strength in abundance throughout their squad and boast NT&DL Top Scorer Paul Ryan who has amassed fourteen goals already this season. Adding to their goalscoring threat will be Ronan Kinane, Mikey Ryan Pa, Tadhg McLoughlin and of course Steven Cummins, all of whom will fancy getting on the team sheet here. Their defence will be marshalled by Kieran Brislane and goalkeeper Brendan Hayes. A hugely talented team that seems to be gunning for Premier Division status in the coming seasons.
Clodiagh themselves have a very talented side and have the very young and equally impressive Robbie Hanrahan in goal, a player that will certainly be pushing A team keeper Adrian Cooke for his place very soon. Vincent Ryan’s side have huge experience in the back line with Dominek Pastorek and John “Nippy” Ryan, the latter rumoured to be in the last season of a trophy laden career that dates back to a 1996 Tipperary Cup win. Their midfield is as strong as the division gets as Matt Ryan continues to produce the goods alongside former Peake Villa player Matty Stakelum. Paul Hanley and Dylan Sheridan (scored the winning penalty in the semi final) will lead the line as they hope for an upset in this very interesting final.
Both teams will look to get their seasons off to the best possible start but we feel that Gurta will have too much here.
The match is held in Gurtagarry at 2.30pm and we hope to see huge support on this occasion.
