NT&DL Weekend Preview

Premier Division

Ballymackey Fc Vs Killavilla Utd

This intriguing tie sees two struggling sides with a lot of potential trying to find their feet this season. Having won only one game apiece at this point a win is a must for both sides if they are to avoid a relegation battle. Ballymackey have already sprung a shock this season having beaten Nenagh Celtic some weeks back while Villa’s only win came away to Borroway Rovers. Willie Darcy has been the key man up front for Ballymackey while Villa have struggled up front and need Paul Lake to hit the kind of form he did with Cloughjordan last season.

StoppageTime.ie Prediction: Draw

Portumna Town Vs Nenagh Celtic

A must win game for Celtic here who have been very inconsistent this season so far. They face a Portumna side that have impressed on their debut season in the top flight and managed their first win of the season against Cloughjordan last weekend. Celtic have mustered up seven points from a possible twelve and Robbie Ryan knows more is needed from his side if they are to regain the title they lost to Thurles last season. Ryan Hanrahan bagged a hattrick for the home side last weekend but Kieran Curran knows his side must stop Mark Walsh if they are to get anything from this game.

StoppageTime.ie Prediction: Draw

Borroway Rovers Vs Cloughjordan Fc

Cloughjordan face a huge and surprising relegation battle if they don’t start picking up points even at this early stage. Having just collected one point from four games it must be their worst start in recent history and they travel to Thurles to face a Borroway side that are proving very hard to beat this season, beating Ballymackey and drawing with Celtic already. Keith Moore and Benny Connolly will be the danger men for Rovers while Cloughjordan really need Dean O’Meara to hit form as they look to climb off the bottom of the table.

StoppageTime.ie Prediction: Draw

Division 1

Clodiagh Rangers Vs Holycross Fc

Second play first in this huge game in Division One as both these sides look to stay ahead of Rearcross and Borrisokane (who also play against each-other) in the Promotion race. Rangers lost their first game of the campaign against Rearcross last week while Holycross remain unbeaten and on top of the table. There has been no shortage in goals for either side this season as Paul Doyle has managed five in the league already for Rangers while veteran JoJo O’Meara has three for the league leaders.

StoppageTime.ie Prediction: Clodiagh Rangers

Rearcross Fc Vs Borrisokane Fc

In the second game of this Super Sunday Division One weekend Rearcross face a tough Borrisokane side. With the latter unbeaten in their opening three games Rearcross know they must curtail their opponent’s momentum as the division starts to define itself. The home side have Mikey O’Gorman firing on all cylinders again while Gordon Harding has been the surprise package in front of goal for the away side.

StoppageTime.ie Prediction: Draw

Sallypark Odhráns Vs Gurtagarry Fc

This mid table clash could be an interesting one as all derby days are in the NT&DL. Both sides need a win to keep their feint promotion hopes alive, Aaron Reid and Shane Hogan have been in the goals for the hosts while Johnny Moyles’ Gurta need last year’s heroics from Paul Ryan as they look to make top flight football for the first time.

StoppageTime.ie Prediction: Gurtagarry Fc

Lough Derg Fc VS Moneygall Fc

Lough Derg grabbed a late win last weekend against Killavilla B but face stiffer competition here in a Moneygall side that boasts the inform Joe Callaghan, a player that has already scored sixteen goals in all competitions this season.

StoppageTime.ie Prediction: Moneygall Fc

Division 2:

BT Harps B Vs Village Fc

Village Fc’s super start to the season must continue as their rivals Arra Rovers and Ardcroney face off in Division Two’s other fixture. Village have Paul Doyle and Ray Cordial in super goal scoring form whilst Harps will look to Luke Quinlan and Brian Kennedy for goals.

StoppageTime.ie Prediction: Village Fc

Arra Rovers Vs Ardcroney Fc

Rovers face a tough task here as they face an in form Ardcroney side who remain unbeaten since the start of the season. Rovers went down by the odd goal in seven against Village Fc last week and another loss here could prove detrimental to their title hopes. Ciaran Willis will be the main danger man for Roves while Jack Daly and Keith Kelly have been impressive for the leaders this season.

StoppageTime.ie Prediction: Ardcroney Fc
