FAI Junior Cup:
Holycross Fc Vs Old Bridge
Holycross Fc host TSDL Premier Division outfit Old Bridge and won’t have it easy. Calum O’Connor has remained in good form throughout the season and the NT&DL Division 1 outfit will be hopeful of a positive result here. Old Bridge are coming off a big defeat to Peake Villa last weekend and will be looking to make amends.
Stoppagetime.ie Prediction: Old Bridge
Nenagh Celtic Vs St Nicholas
Nenagh Celtic host TSDL Division 1’s St Nicholas as they start their pursuit of Junior footballs major honour. Back to full strength Celtic demolished fellow title contenders BT Harps last weekend and will hope to get a good run going from here. Home win expected.
Stoppagetime.ie Prediction: Nenagh Celtic
Ballymackey Fc Vs Killenaule Rovers
South Tipp again travel up north here as bottom of the TSDL Division 3 Killenaule travel to Balinree. Ballymackey have struggled since the start of the season and were beaten 6-2 by Borrisokane last weekend. This though could serve as a confidence booster as Rovers have not registered a point this season yet.
Stoppagetime.ie Prediction: Ballymackey Fc
St Michael’s Vs Borrisokane Fc
Borrisokane have the unenviable task of travelling to St Michael’s this weekend, a team that has already put ten goals past them earlier in the season. Saints will once again prove too strong here but valuable experience will be gained from a Borrisokane side that have been performing well above expectations this season so far. Shane Stapleton has had an exceptional start having scored 10 goals already this season.
Stoppagetime.ie Prediction: St Michael’s
Thurles Town Vs Sallypark Odhráns Fc
Sallypark travel to the Greyhound Stadium this coming Sunday to face a Thurles side that have been impossible to beat so far this season. Sallypark have played and lost 6 games so far and will probably move to -3 points on the table following last weekends concession of a walkover. This will leave them five points from safety in a division where points are very hard come by. Town however have been immense since the season began but will again be without talisman Paul Kirwan (groin). Barry Ryan will see this as a fantastic opportunity to add to his 10 goal haul and Eoghan Vaughan will hope to get off the mark. Liam Hickey has proved to be an astute signing also as Noel Byrnes side look to push for the title. The home side won the reverse fixture 6-4 in what was a fantastic encounter.
Stoppagetime.ie Prediction: Thurles Town
Cloughjordan Fc Vs BT Harps
This Heavyweight clash will see two teams who can ill afford to drop anymore points face off. Both sides are coming off heavy losses to Thurles Town and Nenagh Celtic respectively and this is probably not the fixture either wanted this weekend. Top scorer Dean O’Meara (ankle) is a major doubt as Clough see their season fading away once more. Kevin Kennedy and Paul Lake will hope to return for this whereas Declan Fogarty’s Harps hope to be at full strength. Both Tommy Brophy and Johnny Coleman found it tough last weekend but the duo will look to make amends here. Sam Van Dam and Eoin Dorney impressed last weekend despite the heavy loss and both players will be pushing for a start this time round. Their will be plenty of goals on offer here as both sides look to stay in the title picture.
Stoppagetime.ie Prediction: Draw
Roscrea Town Vs Lough Derg FC
Lough Derg travel to Timeighter with just one point on the board. Leaders Roscrea are top of the table and will hope to get a run going to keep them there as they know any slip up will be detrimental to their title aspirations. John Pio Fitzpatrick has been on exceptional form for the hosts averaging nearly a goal a game and Shane Moloney has improves as the season goes on. Brian Franks will lead the midfield charge with Ray Mc Nicholas and John Cordial marshalling the defence in front of Roddy Teehan. The away side through their struggles have had the bright light that is Seamus Monaghan this far and a lot more will be expected of Brian Barry, James Hastings and Stephen McCarthy if they are to avoid relegation this season. The home side won the reverse fixture 5-1 earlier this season.
Stoppagetime.ie Prediction: Roscrea Town
Rearcross FC Vs Arra Rovers
Rearcross have quickly put themselves into title contention this season after a run of five games unbeaten since the start of the season has seen them move into second place with three games in hand. Striker Mikey O’Gorman has been at the forefront of this run, bagging 6 goals in the 5 games. Arra however have had the opposite start to the season as there solitary point in seven games has landed them at the foot of the table. Rovers also have a goal difference of -25 and this has primarily cost them this far. Shane O’Brien is most likely to be the one to get the goal, for a side that is not guarenteed a goal. A home win is expected.
Stoppagetime.ie Prediction: Rearcross FC
Roscrea Town B Vs Moneygall Fc
This basement battle could very well be detrimental to either side if they lose. Roscrea won the reverse fixture 2-1 in what was one of only two league wins for Town so far this season. Joe Callaghan however has been in great form and his 9 goals in 8 games has kept the home sides head above water this far. Moneygall though know a win here will see them out of the relegation zone and hopefully reignite what on paper would be a good season for them this however has not surfaced and with only one win this season this could yet again be a step too far. A lot will be expected from Andrew Hodgins, Cathal Kennedy and Gearóid Larkin as they look to get out of this slump.
Stoppagetime.ie Prediction: Draw
Portumna Fc Vs Nenagh Celtic B
Portumna’s title surge will really depend on results in games like this. They welcome a Celtic side that is quietly going about their business having won three out of their four league games so far. This division has proved to be a really tight one and no win has come easily for anyone. Portumna have Sean O’Meara, David Fogarty, Paddy O’Sullivan, Gary Curran and Rory Finnegan amongst the goals whereas Darren McGrath and Mark Carey will be the ones to watch for Celtic.
Stoppagetime.ie Prediction: Draw
Division 2 League:
BT Harps B Vs Rearcross FC B
Top plays bottom here as a 17 point gap separates Harps and Rearcross. In another tightly contested Division BT know that performances like last weekends 6-3 win against Clodiagh Rangers are what’s needed to maintain a title charge against the likes of Gurtagarry and Ballymackey. Darren Russell’s 5 goal haul last weekend has put him in the spot lights and with support from Shane Fogarty, Luke Quinlan, Eoin Fitzpatrick and Brian Roche it is hard to see how Rearcross can keep them out. The away side will look to Pj McLoughlin, Gary Ryan and Leo Ryan in an effort to kick-start their season.
Stoppagetime.ie Prediction: BT Harps B
Borrisokane Fc B Vs Ballymackey Fc B
Second placed Ballymackey travel to Borrisokane in what should be a straightforward affair. Timmy Fleming, Mark McCarthy, Colin Hall and Gary McCarthy have been in good form recently and Borrisokane will look to John Kenneally and Jack Sherlock in their bid for an unlikely result.
Stoppagetime.ie Prediction: Ballymackey Fc B
Templetuohy Fc Vs Cloughjordan Fc
The divisions surprise package Templetuohy host Cloughjordan here as 4th plays 5th. With 6 points already between them the home side know a win here will put them right in the title mix and they will be taken as serious contenders after last weekends three all draw with title favourites Gurtagarry. Oisín Jordan has scored 9 goals in 7 league games and he will hope to get into double figures during this game whereas Chris Treacy will hope to find his early league for alongside Tony Buston. Clough though have been very inconsistent throughout the season will hope that either Martin Grace or Alex Wade can add to their tallies this season.
Stoppagetime.ie Prediction: Templetuohy Fc
Clodiagh Rangers Fc B Vs Ballywilliam Utd
Both these sides have found it hard to find their feet this season with 9 losses in 12 games between them. Ballywilliam will hope Davie Corrigan can find some of last seasons form whilst Clodiagh will look to Darragh Brennan and Paul Hanley for goals.
Stoppagetime.ie Prediction: Ballywilliam Utd
