Stoppagetime.ie can tonight confirm that Brian Brooks has resigned from his position as Roscrea Town ”A” team manager. Following a string of poor results Town cannot win the NT&DL Premier Division barring a miracle and Brooks confirmed a new manager was needed.
Martin ”Dutch” Doherty has taken charge and took his first training session last night. The former Killavilla manager will have time to get o know his squad as they have no fixture this weekend on the lead up to their last three games against Thurles Town both home and away whilst they also travel to Nenagh to face Celtic.
Town formed only last summer as Roscrea Utd and Killavilla Utd amalgamated while Streamstown Celtic stepped aside and sent their players in to join. It hasn’t been the ideal start but its a positive step for football in the area and it is sure to improve as time goes on.
The club will now focus on cup competitions as they look to awaken from their current slumber.
