Ballymackey Blow Relegation Fight Wide Open

Ballymackey Fc have given themselves a lifeline in the NT&DL Premier Division relegation battle after a superb 3-1 away win against Portumna Town.

The battle was well and truly underway in midweek after Cloughjordan’s 3-2 win over Nenagh Celtic but this win for Ballymackey now sees just one point seperate the bottom three.

The away side went into a three nil lead thanks to goals from Paddy Tuohy, Tommy Hogan and Denis Haverty, Garry Curran scored a late penalty for the hosts but it was all too little too late.

Ballymackey now travel to Nenagh Celtic on Thursday knowing a win could very well see them safe whilst both Portumna and Cloughjordan will have to wait to seal their fate as they await games away to Celtic and BT Harps respectively.
