Pike Rovers put their disappointing domestic campaign behind them as they came from a goal down to beat TSDL Champions St Micheal’s.
Seven time winners Saints started the game the brighter and found themselves a goal to the good on the twenty minute mark when Pa Quinn was on hand to score. It only took five minutes for Pike to level proceedings though and Pa Mullins did so with aplomb. The game remained tight going into half time with both sides only creating half chances.
Pike came out for the second half looking much the hungrier side and took the lead on the hour mark when Cian Collins scored an absolute screamer, a goal worthy of winning any game. Pike continued to press after this and could have extended their lead but for some poor finishing and good goalkeeping from Aaron Wall.
A fantastic win for the Limerick outfit and a deserved one to boot.
