Sheriff YC retained their coveted FAI Junior Cup after a comfortable 2-0 win over Evergreen Fc of Kilkenny. Goasl in either half by Stephen Murphy (44′) and Paul Murphy (87′) were enough to see their side win their fourth title in seven years.
In a game that Sheriff dominated, it took until a minute from half time to break the deadlock when Stephen Murphy’s 25 yard free was powerfully hit and it took Packie Holden by surprise to make it 1-0.
Sheriff ended the game as a contest with three minutes remaining when Paul Murphy struck from thirty yards, an unbelievable effort from the captain.
A well deserved win for Sheriff as they continue their dominance in Irish Junior Football.
